Getting an Europe Student Visa
To secure your European Student Visa (Long-Stay Type D) as a UniGo student, you must first obtain a formal Letter of Admission from a recognized university within the Schengen Area. Since requirements are strictly enforced for 2026, you’ll need to demonstrate financial self-sufficiency typically through a “Blocked Account” (such as Germany’s requirement of €11,904) or a certified bank statement showing accessible liquid funds for the duration of your first year. Alongside this, you must provide proof of Schengen-compliant health insurance with a minimum coverage of €30,000 and, in some cases, a residency or accommodation contract. Once your documents are attested, you’ll submit your biometrics at a local consulate or VFS Global center, with processing generally taking four to twelve weeks, eventually granting you the legal right to study and travel freely across all 29 Schengen member states.
